Does this come with a long action flush fit magazine
No the bottom metal does not come with a magazine.
Will this fit a Bergara B 14 if I order a new Terrain stock for y’all?
Yes our bottom metal is compatible with a B14 action. When ordering the stock, for the bottom metal inlet just select "Grayboe DBM" and the Hunter M5 DBM will drop right in.
Will it fit Berger’s HMR inlet?
Unfortunatley not, the Bergara factory DBM is its own footprint and is not a M5 inlet.
I currently have a Ridgeback built with the BDL plate. Rifle is chambered in 300 WM, Remington 700. Can I convert to this M5 DBM without modifying the stock opening? Assume Long length for 300 WM?
Unfortunatley the stock will need to be modified and opened up for any M5 DBM to fit.
Will this fit a Bergara Highlander (700 style action) with the Graboe stock? Any machining required?
Unfortunately it won't, the stock will need to be opened up to accept a M5 DBM bottom metal.
Will this fit a Bergara b14 hunter?
Unfortunately it will not, your stock will need to be opened up on the bottom to fit the M5 DBM. All M5 DBM's, like the Grayboe ones, are a larger footprint than the Bergara floor plate currently on your rifle.
Any projected date for a long action CIP length bottom metal in the hunter configuration?
At this point we don't have a hard set date on when that will be unfortunately.
Can you use a magazine OR a bdl plate on this? Or is it purely magazine fed?
Purely magazine fed.
What's the maximum MAGAZINE length for the Long action (not max OACL).
Are these still being made? Is there a signup or notification list?
Yes they are, once we have them back in stock we will be emailing everyone on our mailing list that they are back in stock. Have you singed up for our Newsletter?
Will this work with WSM/RSAUM aics mags?
Yes it will.
I might have missed this somewhere but Is this made for metal or polymer
it takes metal or polymer mags.
When do you expect to have the long action hunter dbm bottom metal available?
they are 6 weeks out from being in stock.
When do you anticipate the Hunter DBM will be available? Can I get an email notification or do I just need to continue to check the website?
should have them back in stock in 4 weeks. Unfortunately we don't have an email notification link when they are back in stock at this time.
Will this fit any stock capable of accepting a M5 DBM?
yes it will.
Perhaps a silly question, but does this fit the Outlander stock?
Yes it does, you can order an Outlander for it here, https://www.grayboe.com/collections/stocks/products/outlander. For $35 we modify the stock to accept the Grayboe or any M5 style DBM.
Is this item put of stock permanently? As in discontinued? If not, how soon will it be back in stock? Is it possible to place a back order? Thanks!
we are currently assembling them as i type this. Once we have them back in inventory, which should be a day or two, they will be back in stock and ready to order. You can place a backorder if you'd like, please email email@example.com to do so.
will a timney/trigger tech straight trigger fit this floor plate?
yes it should. if it doesn't for some odd reason, you can return it for a full refund, no questions asked.
Will this work with AICS CIP length (3.850") 338 Lapua Magazines?
Unfortunately we don't have the CIP model out yet. Its still in its designing phase.
What is the max COAL your long DBM will support?
that will depend on your magazine, typically its 3.625". However, the inner dimension of the magazine well on the DBM is 3.738".
What's the weight for the SA?
it weighs 3 ounces.
what is the max COAL for a SA ?
that will depend on the manufacturer of your magazine. If it has no binder plate than it could be 2.960", just depends on whose mag you have. Regardless, any short action AICS magazine will fit into the hunter DBM.
What is longest coal the short action allows
that will depend if your magazine has a binder plate or not. without a binder plate max COAL would be 2.960". Regardless the Hunter DBM will fit all SA AICS magazines. The inner mag well on the DBM is 3.070".
Love this thing. Want it badly. How do I get an m5 cutout on my current factory style 700 Will it work w 300 rum?
you currently have a factory stock on your 700 rifle? If so, you'd need a gunsmith to open up the bottom of your stock to accept the DBM. Yes our long action DBM will work for the .300 rum with a length of 3.6".
Well made, and well designed. The mag release button is very nicely tucked away, so you won't have to worry about accidentally catching it on a pack, or shooting rest which can result in an inadvertent release of the magazine (a big issue with other M5 style bottom metal, and a big potential weakness for a hunting rifle). The mag release button works smoothly and is well sized and positioned to operating easily with gloved hands.
This is my second Grayboe M5 DBM - the first so impressed me with that 'feel' of quality, as well as the fit and finish, that I decided to pick up another for a different build. If you coat your own metal, these disassemble easily and go back together just as easily (just be mindful of the spring) once you push out the roll pin. Will likely pick up more for my next build.
I was looking for a sleek light weight M5 Hunter DBM. This was exactly what I was looking for. Fit and finish is awesome. You can tell this is a very well made product. Going on my new Grayboe Trekker when it arrives.
Nice machining and finish. Is not compatible with a Stiller short action. Hopefully it works with a mesa precision.
I installed this in a wood stock that had to be opened up. I knew that when I bought the DBM. I have not fired the rifle yet but it does feed nicely with MDT polymer 10 rnd mags and Bergera 5 rnd polymer mags.
