Understanding Left-Handed Rifle Stocks: Answers to Common Questions

For left-handed shooters, finding the right rifle stock can be a challenge. At Grayboe, we get a lot of questions about our left-handed stock options and how they accommodate shooters who need a customized fit. In this post, we’re addressing some of the most frequently asked questions to help lefties get the best shooting experience possible.

WHICH GRAYBOE STOCKS ARE AVAILABLE IN LEFT-HANDED CONFIGURATIONS?

Grayboe offers several stock models in left-handed configurations, including: Phoenix 2 Eagle Pro Eagle Treer Long Action (Long Action Only) These models are designed with left-handed shooters in mind, providing the same level of durability, ergonomics, and customization as their right-handed counterparts.

WHAT ABOUT THE ADJUSTMENT KNOB PLACEMENT?

One of the most common concerns left-handed shooters have is the placement of the adjustment knob on the stock. If mounted on the left side, some shooters worry that it may interfere with their face or shooting position. To address this, every Grayboe stock includes a flush mount screw inside the package. This allows left-handed users to remove the standard knob and replace it with a flush screw, ensuring a smooth and unobtrusive fit.

HOW TO INSTALL THE FLUSH MOUNT SCREW

Swapping out the adjustment knob is a simple process: Locate the flush mount screw included in your Grayboe stock package. Use a ¼-inch Allen wrench (the longest one you can find for easy access). Tighten the flush mount screw into the designated cavity until it sits perfectly flush. Once installed, the screw will not interfere with your shooting position, and you can still adjust the comb height as needed.

WHAT ELSE COMES WITH MY GRAYBOE STOCK?

Every Grayboe stock, whether right-handed or left-handed, comes with: Extra length-of-pull spacers for proper stock adjustment Additional hardware for easy customization Flush mount screw for left-handed shooters

FINAL THOUGHTS

At Grayboe, we understand the importance of a comfortable and functional shooting experience for left-handed shooters. That’s why we ensure that every stock is designed with versatility in mind, providing all the necessary components for easy customization. If you’re a left-handed shooter looking for a high-quality, ergonomic stock, the Phoenix 2, Eagle Pro, Eagle, or Trekker Long Action are great options. And with the included flush mount screw, you can be sure your stock won’t get in the way of your precision shooting.
